crazy question

I don't have a comment, but I do have a question. My "lumberjack" wants to know if it's possible to use/burn really old telephone poles. He believes they're old enough that the "treatment" they receive originally, has weathered. I'm very skeptical about using them as firewood.
Any info would be helpful.
Thanks!

Hi Sharon,

Personally I would have no problems with burning these in a wood stove provided the stove was already burning at a hot temperature. Hot stoves burn more cleanly so any remaining treatment compounds will be more completely broken down and burned.
